Perkins&Will helps employees excel in their environment at Indeed‘s new downtown Austin, Texas office space.
Indeed’s new office in the heart of downtown Austin showcases a state-of-the-art, 10-floor workplace ecosystem equipped with vibrant activity-based work settings and distinct amenities, establishing Indeed’s global brand within the unique Austin context. As a big proponent of innovative and forward-thinking workplace environments, this will be Indeed’s prototype for other future offices globally.
Located in the namesake Indeed Tower, this dynamic office space is agile, versatile and resilient. Designed to promote Indeed’s mission to “help people get jobs”, the space empowers employees to go above and beyond for clients, fostering creativity and innovation at every turn. Indeed’s most important asset is their employees. As such, the space celebrates their achievements and nurtures their hard work through engaging amenities and respite spaces.
The ten floors of work and play feature unique connectors and wayfinding strategies. A kaleidoscope of colors differentiates each room type. Just like the intricate landscapes of Austin, each stratum in the Indeed space frames a career journey rooted in curiosity, adventure, and exploration.
The outdoors and wide-open spaces take center stage, also vegetation is incorporated throughout, alongside panoramic views of Austin’s skyline, the Texas State Capitol, The University of Texas at Austin, and Lady Bird Lake. The balconies serve as green havens that feature xeriscaping, circular bench seating, tables, and pergolas for shade. Biophilic elements such as potted plants, change to guide the users through the space and bring a sense of uniqueness to each floor.
The office is a living design ecosystem developed to explore performance standards for future Indeed offices and inspire a more equitable, healthy way of working. The design links the office space to its location, celebrating local history and culture. With employee wellbeing at its core, the design mitigates the negative impact of materials on human health and encourages active lifestyles.
As part of the design process, Indeed’s leadership provided surveys to their employees at project inception and during the pandemic which informed plan revisions and design strategies to allow flexibility, hybrid work and activity based work settings.
